Jet FUEL Types

Jet fuel, also known as aviation turbine fuel (ATF), is a type of aviation fuel designed for use in aircraft powered by gas-turbine engines. The two of some types of jet fuel are Jet A and Jet A-1, which are used primarily in the United States and the rest of the Americas, and Jet B, which is used in cold climates. Jet A and Jet A-1 are similar in composition, but Jet A has a higher freezing point (-40°C) and is more widely available internationally. Jet B is a kerosene-type fuel with a higher freezing point (-60°C) and is used in colder climates where Jet A and Jet A-1 may become too viscous to be pumped.

Moreover, TS-1 is a type of jet fuel that is commonly used in Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union. It is similar in composition to Jet A and Jet A-1, but has a higher freezing point (-50°C). TS-1 is also known for its lower sulfur content compared to other jet fuels, which makes it more environmentally friendly. It is also used in military aircraft and helicopters.

There are several major companies that produce and supply jet fuel. Some of the largest jet fuel producers include:

• ExxonMobil: ExxonMobil produces and supplies jet fuel under the Exxon and Mobil brand names. They have operations in more than 150 countries, and supply jet fuel to airports and airlines around the world.
• Chevron: Chevron is another major producer and supplier of jet fuel. They supply jet fuel under the Chevron and Texaco brand names, and have operations in more than 180 countries.
• BP: BP is a large producer and supplier of jet fuel. They supply jet fuel under the BP and Amoco brand names and have operations in more than 70 countries.
• Royal Dutch Shell: Shell is a large producer and supplier of jet fuel. They supply jet fuel under the Shell brand name and have operations in several countries.
• Gazpromneft: Gazpromneft is a Russian company that produces and supplies jet fuel. They supply jet fuel under the Gazpromneft brand name and have operations in Russia and other countries in the region.
• Rosneft: Rosneft is a Russian company that produces and supplies jet fuel. They supply jet fuel under the Rosneft brand name and have operations in Russia and other countries in the region.

There are other regional and local companies that produce and supply jet fuel as well, but those above are some of the largest and most well-known companies in the industry.
